Ian Hansen is Operations Manager of Halgan Pty Ltd, Sydney, Australia. He has previously served as President of ARMA (Association of Rotational Moulders Australasia), and also served on the board of ARMO (Affiliation of Rotational Moulding Organisations).
Ian has 35 years experience in the plastics industry. He spent his initial 15 years colour compounding and pulverising thermoplastic and thermoset powders in New Zealand. He then worked 17 years in rotational moulding operations around Australia, followed by 3 years as an independent consultant to the global rotational moulding industry.
His most recent role is with Halgan Pty Ltd who manufacture and market environmental treatment solutions around Australia using rotational moulding and other plastic manufacturing processes. The majority of his rotational moulding experience has been in the manufacture of water and chemical storage tanks, using a variety of equipment; from rock & roll open flame machines to biaxial hot air ovens. Ian has given lectures or seminars to rotomoulding audiences in Europe, South Africa, Australasia, Asia, India, South America and the United States on the process, materials, safety, as well as tank design and tank standards . He has also written technical articles for Rotoworld Magazine & ARMO Rotomoulder Magazine. Ian is also an ARMA Industry Icon, which is special recognition of the consistent dedication and extraordinary accomplishments of individuals, who have contributed to the growth of the rotational moulding industry.
